 November 2009: Change and Transform

Hi there,

At this time of year, we often reflect over the previous year and see where we could have improved, where we did make changes (no matter how painful!) - and how proud we are of ourselves today! and where we knew we were just not ready yet—and that’s okay.

Following is an extract concerning Change and Transformation—and how we can take control of our own lives and determine the change—without the tremendous painful moments we have previously experienced—because we are doing it through choice.

Wishing you success and wonderful accomplishments when choosing change.

Much love,Michele

Everything that lives goes through change throughout its life. Some of those changes are huge and some are very gradual. Some are completely life changing, and some just continue to enhance or enable life. Some nearly kill the thing that’s changing, and others are smooth and relatively painless.

A caterpillar completely transforms itself (life changing) into a butterfly or moth. An Eagle can choose to change parts of its body to live for another 30 years.  The change process is quite painful and lasts around 5 months. A cygnet eventually lets go of its baby feathers of brown and becomes a beautiful white swan.

Just three ways demonstrating how life can change: one completely, one through choice, and one gradual through growth.

The thing with us humans is that we can do all of those if we want! But the key for us is choice. Do we choose to change, grow, and evolve or do we choose to stay where we are? The Ego Self will tell us that change isn’t necessary or that it’s painful and uncomfortable and so many of us fear change. We like things to be just the way they were - and continue to complain about them. We like comfort zones. Imagine how fantastic life would be though if our comfort zones were constantly being gently stretched - in ways that are exciting, fun, and enjoyable. If we leave changes for too long, then it can be a painful process like it is for the eagle. Having said that, we can also go into hibernation and come out a different person (like the caterpillar and the butterfly). Or, we can go through continual growth and change like the cygnet into the swan.

Here’s the thing though. With the Universe, life never stops changing, moving, evolving, creating, and expanding. And so it is with life. Embracing the understanding that transformation and change is constant – it’s the only constant there really is! It’s up to us whether we allow that change to be painful, and at the last minute, or whether we choose continually to review and reflect upon where we are NOW, in order to change and evolve along with the Universe.

At the end of the day, change will happen whether we like it or not. We can choose to be pulled along kicking and screaming and getting lots of bruises and slaps in the process, or we can move along with the change and enjoy the ride. Is there change you are resisting at the moment? Are you fighting it just because you don’t like change or because you weren’t the one to initiate it? Are there areas of your life you’re avoiding changing because it might cause a lot of upheaval? Remember, it’s better to start making small changes now while you know things need to change, rather than wait until you have no choice whatsoever and when the change will be huge and incredibly painful to deal with. Better suffer a grazed knee now than a broken leg later.

Thought for the week - Love Is All You Need

clock November 15, 2009 11:58 by author Michele

Love Is All You Need (Max Stein)

Do all things with love.
The moment you have love in your heart
and feel the depth, the delight and the ecstasy of it,
you will discover that for you the world is transformed.

Love is the emblem of eternity. It confounds all notion of time,
erases all memory of a beginning and
all fear of an end.

By living your life with love each day
you live all the days of your life.

Take away love and your earth is a grave.

You live in the world when you love it.

Wishing you a loving week!

Thought for the week - Hard Spots That Teach Us Love

clock November 15, 2009 11:56 by author Michele

Hard Spots That Teach Us Love (© Mary Manin Morrissey)

We all have people and circumstances in our lives
where we are really challenged
to bring love into that situation.

But the truth is,we don't grow in love,
we're not caused to have to dig deeper in ourselves
when relationships are easy.

Wondrous expansion and great things happen when we bring love into the most difficult situations.

Today,
be grateful for the hard spots
that teach us love.

Wishing you a week of becoming aware and grateful for the “hard spots”!

Thought for the week - Reality Is Something You Rise Above

clock November 6, 2009 11:52 by author Michele

Reality Is Something You Rise Above (© Max Stein)

You don't have to be a puppet manipulated by outside powerful forces; you can become the powerful force yourself.
Don't make your thoughts your prison.

The obstacles you face are mental barriers
which can be broken by adopting a more positive approach.
Don't pray for tasks equal to your powers.
Pray for powers equal to your tasks.

You are bigger then anything that can happen to you.
This is where you will win the battle, in the playhouse of your mind.
Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear.

Courage is the capacity to confront what can be imagined.
You are more important than your problems.

Please note that JuShele will be closed from the 7th to the 15th November.

If you need to connect with me, please contact me via my mobile: 083 377 3780.

Thought for the week - Happiness Is a Byproduct of Activity

clock November 1, 2009 11:05 by author Michele

Happiness Is a Byproduct of Activity
(© Max Stein)

Happiness lies in the joy of achievement,
in the thrill of creative effort.
The human spirit needs to accomplish,
to achieve, to triumph to be happy.

Happiness does not come from doing easy work,
but from the afterglow of satisfaction
that comes after the achievement
of a difficult task that demands your best.

Your personal growth itself contains the seed of happiness.
You cannot pursue happiness by itself.
There is no happiness except in the realization
that you have accomplished something.

Happiness thrives in activity.
It's a running river, not a stagnant pond.

Wishing you a week of active happiness!
