Thought for the week - Big Mud Puddles and Sunny Yellow Dandelions

Big Mud Puddles and Sunny Yellow Dandelions

When I look at a patch of dandelions, I see a bunch of weeds that are going to take over my yard.
My kids see flowers for Mom and blowing white fluff you can wish on.

When I look at an old drunk and he smiles at me, I see a smelly, dirty person who probably wants money and I look away.
My kids see someone smiling at them and they smile back.

When I hear music I love, I know I can't carry a tune and don't have much rhythm so I sit self-consciously and listen.
My kids feel the beat and move to it. They sing out the words. If they don't know them, they make up their own.

When I feel wind on my face, I brace myself against it. I feel it messing up my hair and pulling me back when I walk.
My kids close their eyes, spread their arms and fly with it, until they fall to the ground laughing.

When I pray, I say thee and thou and grant me this, give me that.
My kids say, "Hi God! Thanks for my toys and my friends.
Please keep the bad dreams away tonight. Sorry, I don't want to go to Heaven yet. I would miss my Mommy and Daddy."

When I see a mud puddle I step around it. I see muddy shoes and dirty carpets.
My kids sit in it. They see dams to build, rivers to cross, and worms to play with.

I wonder if we are given kids to teach or to learn from.

Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

This week I wish you Big Mud Puddles and Sunny Yellow Dandelions!!!

Newsletters - March 2010—Managing Injury and Pain with Massage

March 2010—Managing Injury and Pain with Massage

Hi there,

We are just finishing the 1st quarter of 2010, and I am seeing so many clients with chronic or acute back pain caused mainly from stress and incorrect posture that I wanted to highlight that you are not alone and there are measures you can take to alleviate the pain and heal your body.

Many clients have been going to doctors and phsyio’s for months, if not years, and are still suffering.

Massage does help and, just as other care givers have been consulted over time, you need to give massage a chance to actually work by sticking to the prescribed schedule and you will feel the difference in your body.

And if plain old sports or deep tissue massage does not alleviate the pain, maybe it’s time to take responsibility for your pain and try alternative methods of healing such as Antaneea Soul Massage or Intuitive Energy Healing, both of which delve into the Body-Mind-Soul aspect of your current journey on earth.

Wishing you a pain-free month—or at least finding a path to gain freedom from your pain.

Much love

Michele

Managing Injury and Pain Holistically

Alternative medicine and holistic therapies, when administered by qualified professionals, are safe and effective for many back and neck injuries. They can also help alleviate chronic pain. There are few, if any, side effects associated with alternative medicine therapies. Alternative medicine and holistic therapies are built on the premise that the body heals itself; they stimulate the body's own natural healing processes.

There are several alternative medicine systems that work well for back and neck pain:

Chiropractic:

Chiropractic health care uses a form of treatment called the adjustment, to align the bones of the spine. Adjustment consists of a hands-on mobilization of vertebral structures that have been subluxated. The sublaxation is the basic diagnostic category used by chiropractors to describe their examination findings.

Massage Therapy:

Massage involves touching and rubbing the muscles (as well as other soft tissue) to stimulate relaxation and/or balance in the musculoskeletal system.

There are various types of massage which can be categorized into 4 main types:

Chair Massage is done fully clothed and is a massage to the upper body. Chair massages are generally short, around 15 minutes or so, and are done to help with relaxation and circulation. Chair massages are often a part of corporate wellness programs.

Sports massage is a type of massage specifically for athletes. Athletes can get short pre-game or post-game massages, or they can come for a full sessions at other times. Sports massages often uses specialized techniques such as cross-fiber friction to help with injury healing. Sports massage can also incorporate body and joint stretching to increase flexibility.

Trigger Point therapy may be incorporated in both Sports and Deep Tissue massage if the client so desires.

Sports massages promote flexibility, which in turn helps to prevent injury.Deep tissue massage applies a firmer pressure than other techniques to help release chronically tight muscles that may be causing pain or postural abnormality.

Deep tissue massage focuses on problem areas of tension, helping to release toxins that make muscles stiff.

Swedish massage is an all over massage that promotes circulation and relaxation.

According to AMTA President Mary Beth Braun, "traditional methods of treating back and neck problems, for example back surgeries, are not always successful, so people are looking for ways to manage their chronic pain".

A lifetime of good health Due to the hands-on touch of massage, the body is left feeling relaxed, cared for and nurtured, leaving you feeling more healthy and in control. This allows the body to completely relax and so promotes healing on all levels. It is not unknown for clients to get off a massage bed and feel no pain in their body—your therapist will tell you that you will still need to take it easy.

Antaneea Soul Massage:Antaneea is a wonderfully gentle physical, emotional and spiritual massage, often called soul massage, based on the principle that the body is capable of healing itself on all levels. Antaneea unlocks your hidden potential by releasing the old baggage.  An absolute must if you are ready to transform your life.

Intuitive Energy Healing: Prior to your visit, I will “connect” to you and “download” information about you. This information invariably enables me to uncover the core issues that may be keeping you stuck. During the actual session, I will be working on your energy meridians, tapping on certain acupuncture points, very much like EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), releasing blockages, which then allows your energy to flow, thereby bringing the body into balance, which in turn brings about a healing overall. In the actual session with you, I am in a connective Soul space that enables me to keep on receiving information from your energy field and keeps me in an objective place, where there is no judgment. Looking for that special gift? Thought for the week - I Know Something Good About You

clock March 21, 2010 23:57 by author Michele

I Know Something Good About You Poet: Louis C. Shimon

Wouldn't this old world be better
If the folks we meet would say -
"I know something good about you!"
And treat us just that way?

Wouldn't it be fine and dandy
If each handclasp, fond and true,
Carried with it this assurance -
"I know something good about you!"

Wouldn't life be lots more happy
If the good that's in us all
Was the only thing about us
That folks bothered to recall?

Wouldn't life be lots more happy
If we praised the good we see?
For there's such a lot of goodness
In the worst of you and me!

Wouldn't it be nice to practice
That fine way of thinking, too?
 You know something good about me;
I know something good about you.

Leaving you with this thought every day this week when you’re not feeling 100%: “I know something good about you!”

Thought for the week - Promises to Yourself

clock March 14, 2010 23:55 by author Michele

Promises to Yourself By Christian D. Larsen

Promise yourself….
To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind;

To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet;

To make all your friends feel that there is something in them;

To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true;

To think only the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best;

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own;

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future;

To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile;

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others;

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear; and too happy to permit the presence of trouble;

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud words, but in great deeds;

To live in the faith that the whole world is on your side so long as you are true to the best that is in you.

Wishing you a week of successful promises to yourself!

Thought for the week - My Wage

clock March 7, 2010 23:39 by author Michele

My Wage by Jessie B. Rittenhouse

I bargained with life for a penny,
And life would pay no more,
However I begged at evening
When I counted my scanty store;

For life is a just employer,
He gives you what you ask,
But once you have set the wages,
Why, you must bear the task.

I worked for a menial's hire,
Only to learn dismayed,

That any wage I had asked of life,

Life would have paid.

If you set your goals, you are setting expectations for yourself. Improving, learning, and encouraging your own self. Rather than staying where you are, your goals are the encouragement, the motivation, and the sense of purpose that will propel you to success! Goals give you the road map to the destination of your choice, you decide what is it you want and then set your goals, take action, and you will find you will be progressing towards your own destination. Your life can be more. Set your goals, live your passion. Trust that there is more than enough to go around, you are worthy and deserving and that what y ask for, you shall receive (because that’s what’s happening already!)

Have a week being wonderfully focused on all that you desire, trusting that it is yours. Have fun with this!
