Thought for the week - Top Ten Ways to Remember Your Magnificence During Tough Times…

Top Ten Ways to Remember Your Magnificence During Tough Times…

But how do you remember how magnificent you really are when you feel like crap?

How do you get unstuck?

How do you stop feeling like such a failure when everything around you appears to be going wrong?

1.) Look at the worst thing that can happen. Feel it. Mourn it. Cry through it. Then picture the worst that can happen and realize that you’ll live through it. From that alone, you’ll find the release and strength to move on.

2.) Forgive yourself and stop beating yourself up. What happened has happened. You can’t change yesterday so don’t waste energy on it. It’s already in the past. Let it go so you can move past it.Most important is how we choose to move forward.

3.) Find something to be grateful for. No matter how awful things may look you have at least one thing to be grateful for. Find it and celebrate it, and from that, more good will flow into your life.

4.) Realize that life is an ever-changing journey where nothing stays the same. That means that this too shall pass. (And hopefully soon!) What matters most is that you keep going. If you’re stagnant, remember that pond scum only forms on still waters.

5.) Change your focus. As humans, we can only have one thought at a time and we get to choose the thought. If the circumstances you’re in are dreadful, do what you can to solve it, then turn it over to the Universe and focus on something else. Focus on what you WANT, not what appears to be showing up.

6.) Look at your priorities. We spend too much time worrying about the things that matter the least. You are not your problems. Remember what’s important and what’s not. If it won’t matter in five years, it’s not worth worrying about today.

7.) Go do something for someone else. The fastest way to get unstuck is to reach out and help someone else in need. Most times this act brings perspective into our own situation and we realize things are not so dire.

8.) Have faith and believe in yourself and in your future. The solution to your all-consuming problem could show up in the next moment. Anything is possible for us- if we just believe. Believe that the sun will come up again tomorrow and that it is still a beautiful world. Find the magic in the moments and surrender your beliefs on how things “should” be to the greater will of the Universe.

9.) Surround yourself with people who believe in you, support you and love you. This can be in the form of daily inspiration, virtual friends on Twitter or FaceBook and friends that you connect to in person. Reach out to them for help and accept help when it is offered. Be there to help someone discover his or her own magnificence!

10.) Reconnect to who you really are. Go deep. Maybe this means go meditate, pray or go for a walk in the woods. Whatever reconnection looks like for you, realize that you are more than your problems, so remember the infinite, unlimited nature of who you are.

We are infinite beings with unlimited potential!

Tap into the vast, unlimited power of who you really are, and you will jump over those same problems that at one point, appeared to be insurmountable.

Today, remembering your own magnificence, step forth bravely. Be courageous.

Even though there may be problems in your path, for today, choose not to allow something so minute to diminish the splendor of who you really are or rob moments from this precious day.

I’m connected to something bigger than me. And it’s that connection that helps me to remember who I am.

Find your own magnificence within you and come leap over mountains with me.

May 2010—Dealing with the Winter Blues

Hi there,

Are you feeling sniffly? Have a cough that won’t go away? Suffering from stuffy nose and/or sinus? Have a congested chest?

Yes, we’re at that time of year again where colds and flu catch us and we are feeling less than spring fresh.

If you are tired of taking antibiotics that don’t seem to work, here are a few old-fashioned remedies:

1. To help relieve chest and head cold symptoms, rub Vicks on the soles of your feet after your bath and under your socks.  No-one seems to know why it works, it just does.

2. If you have a cough that just won't go away, try a slice of onion, lemon juice and a table spoon of honey in boiling water and drink as hot as you can.

3. Try a sinus massage (available at JuShele) which helps the sinus clear and brings relief.

Good luck with these and let me know how they work for you. All the above work for both adults and children.

Wishing you a healthy winter!

Much love, Michele

Winter Massage—Why It’s Good for You

I was asked this question recently: Winter can be really difficult for me. Do you have any ideas on how to ease the winter months and winter blues?

In the winter when there is less light, there is a tendency for people to get a little depressed. We don’t spend so much time outdoors and are less active.

Also, due to the additional layers of clothing, we give and receive even less human touch.

These are a few suggestions on how to help you through winter:

1. Bring fresh flowers into your home. This can make a huge difference as it is a connection with nature and brings a feeling of hope for spring.

2. Fill candle burners with infused oils of evergreen essence, or find candles scented with evergreen or eucalyptus or even citrus. Your body finds this very comforting and the citrus is uplifting. Dried lavender is also wonderful.

3.  Remember that enjoying a massage during the winter months allows us to really appreciated this as a time of rest. As nature is at rest, so should we be. Because our bodies need touch and we are deprived of touch during winter due to the layers of clothing, our bodies feel deeply rewarded and nourished when receiving a massage. Our moods are uplifted and we can even feel more energized and invigorated. Depending on which massage you choose, you can feel deeply relaxed and calm, or revitalized and energized, or a combination of all of these.

Using massage instead of medicine.

These are my suggestions:

· Suffering from sore feet? Feet feeling claustrophobic in closed shoes all the time? Then choose a wonderfully pampering 40 minute foot therapy session which includes a foot exfoliation, massage and foot mask. Truly wonderful for your feet at this time of year when we forget about them and they continue to do their work.

· Suffering from Sinus? Stuffy nose? Tight chest? The best remedy for this is a sinus massage which includes massage of the upper back, neck, face and scalp, using the Oils of Transformation. This amazing massage is known to relieve sinus blockages and that tight chest.

· For pure indulgence and to feel deeply cherished and nourished, choose a Hot Stone Massage. The combination of hands, hot oil and even hotter stones brings deep relief to the body leaving you feeling as if you have woken up from a deep sleep, completely refreshed and deeply cared for. A truly phenomenal way to reconnect with nature. Your body will thank you for days afterwards…

Some more reasons why massage is good for you:Massage moves sluggish lymph, thus assisting the body to rid itself of toxins that keep you feeling dis-eased and blue.

Massage oils penetrate dry skin and allow the skin to regain its glow as the skin, muscles and tissue are manipulated and kneaded in order to get the oxygen flowing in the body.

Massage deeply relaxes and de-stresses you, helping you to cope with day-to-day stresses.

Massage relieves headaches, back, shoulder and neck pain—whether suffered through injury or stress.

If you would like to explore one or all of these options, feel free to contact me to assess your requirement and book any one of these well deserved, specialized therapies

Thought for the week - To Believe

clock May 23, 2010 15:17 by author Michele

To Believe

To believe is to know that every day
is a new beginning.
It is to trust that miracles happen,
and dreams really do come true.

To believe is to see
angels dancing among the clouds,
To know the wonder of a stardust sky
and the wisdom of the man in the moon.

To believe is to know the value of a nurturing heart,
The innocence of a child's eyes
and the beauty of an aging hand,
for it is through their teachings we learn to love.

To believe is to find the strength
and courage that lies within us.
When it is time to pick up the pieces
and begin again.

To believe is to know
we are not alone,
That life is a gift and
this is our time to cherish it.

To believe is to know that wonderful surprises
are just waiting to happen,
And all our hopes and dreams are within reach.
If only we believe.

Wishing you a week of believing!

Thought for the week - In Honour of all Mothers

clock May 9, 2010 10:49 by author Michele

Today we pray for mothers--
our own mothers, and mothers everywhere,
who have made such a major contribution
to the good qualities we have,
sometimes through genetics,
more often through great effort and patient instruction,
and who have done their best
to gently polish away our rough edges.

Lord, please bless our mothers
for the endless hours of time they spent
and the boundless energy they invested in us.
Bless our mothers for their sacrifices on our behalf
as they often gave up or deferred their own dreams
so that we could have ours.

Bless our mothers for always being there for us,
for being the person we know we can turn to
when we need comfort, encouragement, or just a hug.

Bless our mothers for making a home for us
where we could feel safe, where we felt we belonged.

Most of all, Lord,
bless our mothers for their unconditional love,
for loving us no matter what,
and for frequently showing love
in ways that make us feel valued and cherished.

Lord, please bless our mothers mightily.
Strengthen them, soothe them,
wrap them in Your infinite love
and shower them with blessings
too numerous to count, too magnificent to describe.

We love them, admire them, and respect them,
and we wish that You would give them back
many times the good they gave to us.
 By Joanna Fuchs

Trusting you all had a wonderful mother’s day – and wishing you a year of the blessing above – no matter what your label is: mother, daughter, friend, son or father – each and every one of you!

Thought for the week - Things Work Out

clock May 2, 2010 10:46 by author Michele

Things Work Out Edgar A. Guest

Because it rains when we wish it wouldn't,
Because men do what they often shouldn't,
Because crops fail, and plans go wrong-
Some of us grumble all day long.

But somehow, in spite of the care and doubt,
It seems at last that things work out.
Because we lose where we hoped to gain,
Because we suffer a little pain,
Because we must work when we'd like to play-
Some of us whimper along life's way.

But somehow, as day always follows the night,
Most of our troubles work out all right.
Because we cannot forever smile,
Because we must trudge in the dust awhile,
Because we think that the way is long-

Some of us whimper that life's all wrong.

But somehow we live and our sky grows bright,
And everything seems to work out all right.
So bend to your trouble and meet your care,
For the clouds must break and the sky grow fair.

Let the rain come down, as it must and will,
But keep on working and hoping still.
For in spite of the grumblers who stand about,
Somehow, it seems, all things work out.

Wishing you a “working out” week!
